With the growing trend of location-sharing, it seems that many of us want to let our friends and family members know where we’re dining, shopping, what movie we’re seeing and where, and many other aspects of our lives. But what if you don’t want to share this information with everyone, you only want a select few to know what you’re doing? Marco Polo heard your cries and has created an app just for this for iOS and Android users.
Marco Polo allows you to share your location with select friends, allowing more privacy and control on the app user’s end.
How Marco Polo works
The company explains the app like this: “Marco polo is the easiest way to send your location privately to friends. ‘marco’ a few friends to let them know what you’re up to. you can attach a picture, message, or both! in one click, they can ‘polo’ back their own location with a picture and message.”
It really is that simple. Each time you are about to “check-in” somewhere, Marco Polo asks with whom you would like to share the location. Working just like the children’s game, Marco Polo, the app gives the power back to the user. Once a location has been shared with you via Marco Polo, users get a notification (as long as they are part of the chosen friends of the sender), and they have the option to share their location with you. Attached will be a link and the location sharer can also attach a message and a picture, as well. And if someone hadn’t downloaded the app, you can still send them a link to your location.
