Quick Facebook Keyboard Shortcuts
Facebook keyboard shortcuts vary depending on the type of computer and Internet browser that you use. To navigate these differences, Facebook gives users these formulas:
Internet Explorer for PC: Alt + [#], then Enter
Firefox for PC: Shift + Alt + [#]
Safari for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + [#]
Firefox for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + [#]
Chrome for Mac: Ctrl + Opt + [#]
Chrome for PC: Alt + [#]
To use these formulas, you have to replace the [#] with the corresponding numerical number or letter. To do that, you’ll need these access keys:
0 – Help
1 – Home
2 – Timeline
3 – Friends
4 – Inbox
5 – Notifications
6 – Settings
7 – Activity Log
8 – About
9 – Terms
m – New Message
For example, if you use Chrome on a Mac and want to write a new message, you just type Ctrl + Opt + m. Or, if you are an Internet Explorer user on the PC who wants to go back to your home page, you type Alt + 1, then hit the Enter key.
We love the shortcuts that allow you to quickly check the Notifications, Settings, and the Activity Log, as well as go Home or Compose a New Message. Learning these shortcuts can help Facebook users quickly navigate the site without having to find the appropriate links.
