We are in the process of opening Get Smart Workspaces, a Co-Working Business Incubator in Carlsbad, California.
What is Co-Working?
Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared working environment, often an office, and independent activity. Typically it is attractive to work-at-home professionals, independent contractors, or people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation. Coworking is also the social gathering of a group of people who are still working independently, but who share values, and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with like-minded talented people in the same space
What is a Business Incubator?
Business incubators are programs designed to support the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services, developed and orchestrated by incubator management and offered both in the incubator and through its network of contacts.
Coworking spaces have become more and more popular as an increasing number of companies find hiring a workforce that telecommutes and/or starting and running a business from home more economical. Coworking spaces allow business owners and professionals access to a business space outside of the home, office, or while traveling.
Working from home or in a solo environment can wear on an individual resulting in lower productivity, creativity, and motivation. Coworking spaces can be used to work in an environment that allows for collaboration with other businesses and professionals. In an open work environment people share, support, and connect building strong business relationships while also productively getting business done.
A coworking workspace provides a work environment that can reinvigorate a business internally, while externally giving a startup or small business a more professional outward appearance.
Coffee Shops are great for getting to know you meetings, but not so wonderful for professional and confidential business meetings.
